The Junior DTigress of Nigeria bowed out of the FIBA Under-19 Championship in style with a won over Argentina.
After crashing out in the second round with a loss against Hungary, the Nigerian ladies ended their losing run on Friday afternoon.
Nora Ezike and Hembam Marvis stepped up for the team as they scored 17 points each in the 68-58 win.
The first quarter was keenly contested but the Junior DTigress edged it by two points recording 110% to from the free throw line.
However, both teams were shadows of themselves in the second half with turnovers and missed shots.
The Junior DTigress came out on top in the penultimate quarter as they outscored the Argentines 18-11 even though they struggled from the three-point line.
The deciding quarter was even. Both struggle with turnovers and poor shooting continued but were effective from the free throw line as the final quarter ended 21-21.
Nigeria sealed off the win a 10-point winnas their debut appearance at the tournament ended with two wins and three losses.
