Legendary Chelsea Football Club goalkeeper, Petr Čech says he and his wife Martina have separated after twenty-six years of marriage but still remain good friends.
Petr Čech announced the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page with a picture of Martina planting a kiss on his cheek.
Čech wrote, “Martina and I are saddened to share that we are separating after 26 years together. We remain best friends and are incredibly proud of our two children.”
Petr Čech and Martina met in 1999 as teenagers and tied the knots four years later in a colorful ceremony. Čech and Martina have two kids Adela, 17, and son Damian, 16.
The 43-year-old former goalkeeper spent more than a decade at Stamford Bridge where he won four FA Cups, three League Cups, and the UEFA Champions League in 2012, and four Premier League titles.
He went on to play for Arsenal in 2015 after a decade at Chelsea and won another FA with the Gunners before he retired from football in 2019.
He served as Chelsea’s technical performance advisor but left the role at the arrival of new owner Todd Boehly in 2022.
