Red Star Belgrade have confirmed the signing of Nigerian defender, Franklin Degaulle Tebo Uchenna from Norwegian side Sarpsborg 08.
The 25-year-old centre-back joins the Serbian champions on a three-year deal with an option for a fourth, and will wear the number 30 shirt.
The transfer fee is reported to be around €3.6 million, making Tebo one of the most valuable defensive exports from Norway this summer. His move marks a major step in a career that began in Nigeria with Nasarawa United before stints in Sweden with BK Häcken and later in Norway, where he became a mainstay for Sarpsborg.
Standing at over 1.90 metres, Tebo is renowned for his aerial strength, composure on the ball and commanding presence at the back.
During his time in Scandinavia, he lifted the Swedish Allsvenskan title and Svenska Cupen with Häcken, before cementing his reputation as a reliable defender in Norway’s Eliteserien.
At Red Star, he will reunite with fellow Nigerian Peter Olayinka as the Belgrade giants prepare for another push in the UEFA Champions League.
The club’s management described his arrival as a move to reinforce their backline with both physicality and experience, highlighting his potential impact on both domestic and European campaigns.
