Haaland’s brace powers Man City over Palace to keep pressure on Arsenal

Erling Haaland continued his terrific form in front of goal this season as he scored twice to help Manchester City secure three goals and a clean sheet over Crystal Palace at Selhurt Park.

Manchester City went into the game five points behind league leaders, Arsenal after the two own goals gave the Gunners a narrow win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, after 90 minutes of football, the former champions put three goals past the Eagles to reduce the gap to just three points heading into Christmas.

Haaland and Phil Foden propelled City to their fourth consecutive win in the league this season as they stay within Arsenal’s reach.

In other results, Calum Hudson-Odoi scored twice while Ibrahima Sangare added the third as Nottingham Forest demolished Tottenham at the City ground.

The fomer Chelsea winger resgiatered his third goal of the campaign in the 3-0 over the visitors on the back of their 2-1 win over Utrecht in the Europa League on Thursday night.
