Super Falcons midfielder Halimatu Ayinde has become one of the few Nigerian players to win a UEFA club title after BK Häcken claimed the inaugural UEFA Women’s Europa Cup on Friday.

The Swedish side defeated Hammarby IF 3-2 in the second leg of the final at the Hisingen Arena, sealing a 4-2 aggregate triumph.

Ayinde’s latest achievement makes her the second Super Falcons star to lift a UEFA competition trophy after Asisat Oshoala, who won the UEFA Women’s Champions League on three occasions with Barcelona Femení.

The Nigerian midfielder, who joined Häcken in January, was not listed in the squad for the final but remains part of the team that secured the historic title.

Häcken entered the second leg with a narrow 1-0 lead from the first meeting and wasted no time taking control of the return fixture.

Forward Felicia Schröder struck twice in the opening nine minutes to put the hosts firmly in command.

She netted the opener in the sixth minute before doubling the lead three minutes later from an assist by captain Anna Anvegård, giving Häcken a commanding aggregate advantage.

Hammarby fought back through Svea Rehnberg, who scored in the 26th minute, before Elin Sørum added another just after halftime to cut the deficit to one goal on aggregate.

With pressure mounting, Schröder completed her hat-trick in the 54th minute, calmly finishing after another neat move involving Anvegård to secure the trophy for Häcken.

The forward ended the tournament as top scorer with eight goals and was named Player of the Match in both legs of the final.

The victory also earned Häcken qualification for the third qualifying round of the 2026-27 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
