Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has confirmed that forward Ademola Lookman is available for selection ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash with Torino.
Juric, ahead of the trip to Torino, provided the update on the Nigerian international on who has recently returned to full squad training after an extended period on the sidelines.
“Lookman? He talked with me, his teammates, and the staff. He was received positively and will be ready for tomorrow,” Juric said, according to Tuttosport.
“He isn’t at 100% fitness yet, since he spent a lot of time training alone, but he’s put in strong sessions this week.
Lookman is yet to play this season amid a challenging offseason marked by transfer rumors and disciplinary matters.
His choice to train separately sparked speculation about his long-term stay in Bergamo, though recent progress has facilitated his comeback to the team.
Ivan Juric noted that the 27-year-old might not be fit to start, emphasizing the importance of monitoring his readiness after limited group involvement.
“We’ll have to check; he hasn’t done much with the team. He’s still a key asset for us, and I’ll make the call,” the coach cautioned.
Lookman’s reappearance arrives at a pivotal moment for the Nerazzurri, who are eager to bounce back from a heavy 4-0 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain midweek.
Ademola Lookman gives Juric an extra attacking option to help regain form in the league.
Atalanta have five points from three Serie A matches so far this season.
