How Ademola Lookman reacted after scoring late winner for Atalanta over Milan

Courtesy of Ademola Lookman’s late header, Atalanta secured an impressive 2-1 win over AC Milan on Friday night in Bergamo.

Lookman’s goal extended Atalanta’s unbeaten run across all competitions to 13 this season and it also took his goals tally in the league to 8 in 12 matches.

The Super Eagles winger rose highest in the box and met Sead Kolasinac’s cross from a corner with a powerful header to secure the late win for Atalanta.

The 27-year-old expressed his delight after the game citing how important the victory is as they compete for the championship.

“We won against a strong team and we are happy. A heavy and important victory, which is even more important for our championship, given that Milan is a great team,” Lookman told Sky Sport Italia after the win.

He also added that he and his teammates must comtinue to work hard to maintain their current run of form.

“We must continue to play like this, thinking about one game at a time. We believe in our work. It is right that the fans dream, we must continue to work .”

Ademola Lookman has been one of the most consistent players in Europe’s top five leagues over the lat 18 months.

His consistency earned him several nominations recently including ghe FIFA Ballon D’or where he finished 14th.

Lookman is termed as the favorite to win the 2024 CAF African Footballer of the Year later this month. The CAF Awards ceremony is billed for 16 December in Morocco.
