Luka Modric has issued a heartfelt message to Real Madrid supporters following the announcement of his departure at the end of the season.
He will make his final appearance at the Bernabéu on Saturday in the last La Liga game against Real Sociedad. The 39-year-old midfielder will then join the team for the Club World Cup in the USA before his departure.

Modric’s message read;
“Dear Madridistas, This moment has arrived. The moment I never wanted to come, but this is football, and everything in life has a beginning and an end.
“On Saturday, I will play my last game at the Santiago Bernabéu. I arrived in 2012 dreaming of wearing the shirt of the best team in the world and with the ambition to achieve great things, but I couldn’t even imagine everything that followed.
“Playing for Real Madrid changed my life, both as a footballer and as a person. I am proud to have been part of one of the most successful eras in the history of the greatest club.”
