Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho was absent as Sevilla and Sunderland played out a 1–1 draw in a pre-season friendly held at the Estádio Algarve in Portugal today.
Sunderland took the lead in the 31st minute through French midfielder Enzo Le Fée, who capitalised on a defensive error by Sevilla’s Carmona to slot home confidently.
The English side looked sharp and organised, with several new signings and younger players making an impression throughout the match.
Despite falling behind, Sevilla gradually improved after the break, with the introduction of substitutes like Suazo, Lukebakio, and Badé adding more intensity to their play.

The Spanish side pressed for an equaliser in the final stages, and were eventually rewarded deep into stoppage time. Ruben Vargas struck in the 94th minute following a precise assist from debutant Suazo, denying Sunderland a morale-boosting win.
