Ikorodu City avoided defeat away at Rivers United on Wednesday evening to extend their unbeaten run to five matches in the league.
The Oga Boys came into the tie on the back of two consecutive wins against Nasarawa United and Bendel Insurance.
Rivers United, playing in their first match after securing a historic qualification into the group stage of the CAF Champions League, couldn’t breakdown their visitors.
Folarin Temitope came close to givong the visitors the opener six minutes into the match but Osage Onisodumeya reacted quickly to deny the forward.
The first half ended goalless as Ikorodu City should resilence in defense and threat going forward.
Finidi George’s side put up an improved display in the second half as they renewed effort to breach the defense of the visitors.
Michael Alata pulled off a brilliant late save to keep Ikorodu City in the tie as it ended goalless at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The result leaves Ikorodu City fifth on the log with 15 points after 10 matches while Rivers United have 13 after eight matches.
