Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are plotting a January move for Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, according to reports.
The 21-year-old Spanish forward struggled to secure regular playing time under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, despite being touted as Lionel Messi’s heir apparent.
Fati’s situation hasn’t improved since returning from a loan stint at Brighton last season. With game time hard to come by, a permanent exit is increasingly likely.
As reported by Diario AS, both Fenerbahce and Mourinho are keen on making a move for him in January, marking a significant turn in Fati’s career.
The Turkish club had previously shown interest in the forward over the summer, with Sevilla also among the suitors. Fenerbahce’s Sporting Director, Mario Branco, is reportedly planning to reach out to Fati’s representatives to present an opening offer.
The arrival of Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray has certainly made them stronger, adding more difficulty to Mourinho’s task at Fenerbahce.
Perhaps, the addition of Fati will boost their chances of wrestling the League title away from their fierce rivals.
