Juventus add to Manchester City’s miseries with victory in Turin

Juventus are the latest club to add to Manchester City’s current miseries as the old ladies beat the English champions in Turin.

Two second half goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie secured maximum points for Thiago Motta’s side over Pep Guardiola’s men.

The first half of the encounter was quite underwhelming as both sides created very little attempts towards goal.

Erling Haaland had the biggest chance of the first half as he powered a low drive into the middle of goal but Michele De Gregorio made a good save.

The home side has the first opportunity to score in the second half but Ederson fell to the ground swiftly to deny Federico Gatti.

However, the Brazilian goalkeeper double attempt to save Vlahovic’s attempt at goal failed as the his header crossed the line to give Juventus the lead.

Juventus’ defense line blocked several shots towards goal to keep their slim lead intact.

Once again Michele De Gregorio made another fantastic save to deny Kevin De Bruyne attempt to equalize from the edge of the box.

While Pep Guardiola’s men camped at Juventus’s half, they were caught on a counter which sealed the victory for the home side.

Timothy Weah lofted a delightful cross into the path of Weston McKennie who buried the ball into back of the net with a bicycle kick.

Manchester City are now at risk of not qualifying for the second round of the competition as they drop to the 14th spot of the drop zone.

The English champions have just one win in 10 matches across all competitions as the poor run of form deepens.
