Liverpool legend says finished Arsenal star ‘will not improve’

Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann has claimed that Arsenal star Raheem Sterling has declined as a footballer in recent years.

Sterling completed a shock loan move to Arsenal from Chelsea on transfer deadline day in the summer after being frozen out by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

The 29-year-old has yet to perform to even an acceptable level for the Gunners under manager Mikel Arteta.

Hamann explained that Sterling might have hit his ceiling, and is unlikely to get better.

“I hope we see the Raheem Sterling we saw at Liverpool and Manchester City, but I don’t think we will see him reach those levels at Arsenal,” Hamann told Flashscore.

“If you look at his form, he’s gone backwards since leaving Manchester City. I don’t think he will improve again.”

Hamann’s comments suggest that Sterling’s best days may be behind him. Despite his impressive career, which includes winning multiple titles with Manchester City and Liverpool.
