Liverpool leapfrogged Manchester City to claim the Premier League’s top spot, thanks to a 2-1 victory over Brighton and City’s stunning loss at Bournemouth.

Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah’s goals sealed the win, as they capitalised on Arsenal and City’s slip-ups.

Salah, in scintillating form, has now contributed 7 goals and 5 assists in just 10 games.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the Egyptian is aware that this could be his last year at the club, and is willing to fight until the end.

The Reds now hold a two-point advantage over City, and Salah believes they must maintain their momentum. Taking to his X account post-game, Salah declared:

“Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less. All teams win matches, but there’s only 1 champion in the end.”

“No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”

Salah has won just one league title in his 8 years as a Red, and he will be determined to win one more, even if this is his last season.
