Manchester City drop points again as Fulham beat 10-man Chelsea

Manchester City remain winless in their last three games as they drift further away from the title race.

After two consecutive draws against Sunderland and Chelsea, Pep Guardiola’s men hosted Brighton at the Etihad with the aim getting maximum points.

Erling Haaland gave the host the lead from the penalty spot four minutes before the break after Jeremy Doku was brought down in the box.

Karou Mitoma grabbed the equalizer for the Seagulls on the hour mark with a low drive down the bottom of goal.

Manchester City missed a handful of chances to grab the winner as the tie ended one-all at the Etihad.

Arsenal, should they win against Liverpool tomorrow, will go nine points clear of Manchester City after matchday 21.

Meanwhile, Fulham secured a 2-1 over Chelsea in the London Derby at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night.

Marc Cucurella’s red card in the first half put the Blues in a difficult position but held on without conceding in the first half.

However, Raul Jimenez gave the host the lead with a header that bounced off the ground before landing inside the net.

Substitute, Liam Delap came off the bench and equalised for the Blues with a rebound inside the box.

Chelsea’s new manager Liam Rosenoir was in the stands as he witnessed Harry Wilson secured the winner for Fulham in the 81st minute.

The win takes Fulham to ninth on the Premier League log with 31 points.
