Manchester City reclaim fourth spot after narrow win over Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester City are back in the top four after a slim win over Tottenham Hotspur Hotspur away from home.

The Cityzens reclaimed the fourth spot 24 hours after Chelsea claim the position with the win over Southampton on Tuesday.

Erling Haaland’s first half goal made the difference on the night as Pep Guardiola’s men secured maximum points.

Haaland gave Manchester City the lead 12 minutes into the match as buried the ball nicely into back of the net from Jeremy Doku’s pass.

Guglielmo Vicario stood firm in between the sticks as he saved Haaland’s volley from point blank range.

Son Hueng-Min missed Tottenham’s best chance in the night came late in the game.

The South Korean forward was left unmarked in the box but failed to bury the ball into the top corner as Ederson made a sublime save to keep the ball out.

Haaland doubled the lead for Manchester City late in the game from Phil Foden’s pass but the video assistant referee his goal due to a handball

The final chance of the match fell to Pape Matar Sarr. Unfortunately, the Senegalese midfielder placed his header narrowly over the bar.

Manchester City secured three points as they sit in fourth position with 47 points having played a game less.
