Marcus Rashford completes six months loan move to Aston Villa

Rashford joins Aston Villa for the rest of the season with a potential option to buy

Marcus Rashford has completed a loan move to Aston Villa till the rest of the season.

Aston announced the signing of the 27-year-old forward in a series of social media posts on Sunday evening.

The Manchester United academy graduate says he’s happy both clubs reached an agreement promptly to make the move materialize.

He added that a number of clubs approached him during the transfer window but choosing Aston Villa was an easy decision because he admires the way the Villans have been playing this season.

Rashford also says he wishes everyone at Manchester United well for the rest of the season.

“I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen”. “I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions”. “I just want to play football and am excited to get started. I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season”.

Aston Villa will cover 70% of Rashford’s wages according to football transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

The contract also includes an option for Aston Villa to buy the England international for £40 million at the end of the season.

Marcus Rashford who has been out of Ruben Amorim’s squad since December will get a fresh start under Unai Emery as he looks to get back into shape.

The forward will also feature in the UEFA Champions League round of sixteen as Aston Villa finished eighth in the league phase.

Rashford replaces 21-year-old forward Jhon Duran who recently completed a permanent move to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

Unai Emery, with the arrival of Rashford will have a variety of options in his forward line. The Villans currently parades Ollie Watkins, Donyell Malen, Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey.
