Arsenal missed the chance to stretch their lead over Manchester City after playing a goalless draw against Liverpool at the Emirates on Thursday night.
The Gunners came into the tie after Manchester City and Aston Villa dropped points in their respective games 24 hours before.
Unfortunately, Mikel Arteta’s men couldn’t capitalize on the advantage as the gap between them and City remains six.
Arsenal dominated the first half with a couple of chances at a goal but couldn’t breach Liverpool’s defense.
While the Gunners looked lively in the first half, they were a shadow of themselves in the second as the Reds, without Mohammed Salah, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak, stepped up and took the game to the Gunners.
Liverpool’s lack of cutting-edge in attack came to bear as they struggled to register shots on target despite dominating the home side for most of the second half.
The tie ended in a stalemate as Arsenal maintained their six-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the league table.
