After a difficult start to life at Sevilla, Akoh Adams scored his maiden La Liga goal for the club in the road win at Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
This post examines how the aforementioned players performed for their respective club sides this past weekend across various leagues.
Gift Monday
The Super Falcons striker has been in decent form this year. Though she was selected for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in July, Monday has arguably done enough to make her return to the team ahead of next month’s qualifiers.
Gift Monday etched her name in the annals of history of the National Women’s Soccer League over the weekend in Washington Spirit’s 4-0 win over Houston Dash as she scored the fastest hat trick in the history of the women’s league. Gift Monday scored her hat trick in 36 minutes to set the landmark achievement.
Gift Monday’s hat trick takes her to the fourth spot on the scorers chart with eight goals from 19 matches.
Paul Onuachu
Paul Onuach’s return to Trabzonspor this season continues to yield positive outcomes as the Nigerian striker scored his fifth goal in seven Turkish Super League matches. Onuachu put up a commendable performance as he bagged a brace in a seven-goal spectacle against Fatih Karagumruk. The Super Eagles scored a spectacular acrobatic goal and from the penalty spot as Trabzonspor won 4-3 away from home.
Akor Adams
Akor Adams put his difficult start to life at Sevilla behind him on Sunday evening. The former Flying Eagles striker scored the only goal of the match as Sevilla secured maximum points away at Rayo Vallecano. The 25-year-old striker joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January, but struggled with injuries and other obstacles. Akor Adams’ goal is his first in the La Liga, and he hopes to get more in a bid to secure his place in the team.
Asisat Oshoala
Oshoala continues to impress since joining Al Hilal Women from Bay FC this summer. The Super Falcons striker scored and provided an assist in the 3-0 win over Noem SC on Saturday. Asisat Oshoala has now scored three goals and provided two assists in three matches for Al Hilal.
