Napoli have reportedly asked Manchester United for striker Rasmus Hojlund, plus £33.6 million for Nigerian goal-machine Victor Osimhen’s signature this summer transfer window.
Manchester United are keen to sign a new striker to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad after a trophyless 2024/25 season.
The Red Devils were in the running to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, who has a £30 million relegation release clause in his contract. However, the 22-year-old’s preference is to join Chelsea this summer.
With this option potentially falling through, they have stepped up negotiations to sign Osimhen.
According to reports, Man United’s director of football, Matt Hargreaves, traveled to Italy last week for talks with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna to land Osimhen.
The 26-year-old has a £63 million release clause in his contract, valid only for teams outside Italy. Osimhen’s loan deal with Galatasaray expires in June, and the Nigerian attacker is yet to decide his next move.
