Nigerian players enjoyed another impressive weekend across Europe, with goals, assists, and match-winning performances lighting up leagues in Spain, Turkey, Italy, and Sweden.
Leading the headlines was Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who scored a brace to help Galatasaray clinch the Turkish Super Lig title. The Nigerian forward once again proved decisive as the Istanbul giants secured the championship, marking Osimhen’s second league triumph with the club.
In Spain, Sadiq Umar delivered from the bench for Valencia CF, scoring the winning goal in a crucial away victory against Athletic Bilbao. The striker’s impact as a substitute helped Valencia strengthen their position in the league standings.
Another Nigerian substitute made headlines in La Liga as Akor Adams came off the bench to score a dramatic stoppage-time winner for Sevilla FC against Espanyol. Fellow Nigerian Chidera Ejuke also impressed during the encounter as Sevilla moved three points clear of the relegation zone with a hard-fought victory.
In Italy, David Okereke scored a brilliant solo goal to seal US Cremonese’s home Serie A win over Pisa SC. The match also featured Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who was in action for Pisa.
Elsewhere in Sweden, Zadok Yohanna provided a quality assist for AIK despite their home league defeat to Djurgårdens IF.
The performances continue a strong run for Nigerian players abroad, with several Super Eagles stars playing key roles for their clubs as the European season approaches its climax.
