Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie continued her superb form in the Women’s Super League by securing a second consecutive clean sheet and helping her side claim a 1-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigeriang shot stopper had already kept her goal intact in Brighton’s previous match – a goalless draw against Liverpool – before the team travelled to the King Power Stadium.
After a goalless first half, the Seagulls broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half as Kiko Seike tapped the ball into an empty net from close range after Swedish forward Rosa Kafaji played her in with a precise pass.
Leicester City failed to test Nnadozie for most of the afternoon and created no clear-cut chances.
In the 14th minute, Nnadozie rushed off her line and collected a loose ball, denying forward Shannon O’Brien any opportunity to pounce.
Later in the closing stages, Nnadozie produced a commanding save when she confidently intercepted a dangerous corner that Sam Tierney delivered into the penalty area.
Only Chelsea’s goalkeeper Hannah Hampton (7 clean sheets) has kept more clean sheets than Nnadozie (6) in the ongoing Women’s Super League.
