Bendel Insurance got the better of Wikki Tourist at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday evening on matchday 15 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The host recorded only their third home win of the season as they scored three unreplied goals to deal a 3-0 victory.
Chinedu Nwosu put the Insurance ahead 14 minutes into the tie while two goals from Emmanuel Dung and Emmanuel Akpan in the second half gave the home side maximum points.
The win takes Bendel Insurance out of the relegation zone momentarily having amassed 16 points from 15 matches.
Meanwhile, defending champions Demo Stars’ misery on the road continued in Minna as they fell to another loss.
Clinton Jeptha’s opener in the first minute of action sealed the win for Niger Tornadoes and Remo Stars, their sixth consecutive loss on the road this season.
The Sky Blue Stars last won on the road in September – a 2-1 win over newcomers Kun Khalifa.
