Six fixtures were played across Nigeria on Saturday in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), producing home dominance, a few surprises, and some hard-fought draws.
In Jos, Plateau United earned a crucial 2–1 victory over Enyimba, with Monday Gideon scoring twice to secure all three points for the hosts. Jonathan Jacob pulled one back for the visitors, but the People’s Elephant could not find an equaliser despite late pressure.
Warri Wolves continued their impressive home form, defeating Bayelsa United 2–0 in Ozoro. Igbunu Evwierhurhoma netted both goals — one in each half — as Wolves comfortably managed the contest to claim another vital win.
In Bauchi, Wikki Tourists halted Shooting Stars’ five-match unbeaten streak with a commanding 2–0 win. Abdullahi Usman and Jonathan Mairiga found the net in a match that saw the home side dominate possession and limit 3SC’s attacking threat.
Abia Warriors also made the most of their home advantage in Umuahia, defeating Barau FC 2–0 courtesy of goals from Emeka Obioma and Sunday Megwo. The result keeps Abia Warriors firmly in the top half of the table, while Barau remain winless on the road.
In Enugu, Rangers International were held to a goalless draw by Kwara United. Both sides created chances but lacked precision in front of goal, settling for a point each in a match that offered more defensive discipline than attacking flair.
Elsewhere, Kun Khalifat FC and Bendel Insurance battled to a 1–1 draw. The visitors took the lead early in the second half, but Kun Khalifat responded in the 62nd minute to secure a share of the spoils — a result that leaves both teams mid-table after an even encounter.
