Super Eagles right-back, Ola Aina played for Nottingham Forest for the first time since September, 2025.
Ola Aina suffered an injury while playing for Nigeria in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa in Blomfontein.
The injury saw the defender missed out of the World Cup playoffs as well as the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The defender returned to action on Saturday afternoon as Nottingham Forest started the year with a loss.
Ola Aina was included in Sean Dyche’s line-up and featured for more than hour in the 3-1 loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park.
John McGinn scored twice in the second half while Ollie Watkins bagged his seventh goal of the league as Aston Villa temporarily move to second on the Premier League log.
The defeat leaves Nottingham Forest 17th on the log with 18 points after 20 matches.
