Napoli got a 1-1 draw away from home against Udinese to secure their third Scuddeto trophy which has eluded them for 33 years.

The title should have been sealed at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona  over the weekend against Salernitana if they had all three points but it ended in a draw and that had to postpone the celebration until another matchday.

Udinese took the lead early in the 13th minute from Lovric with a well taken strike which stunned the away fans. Napoli dominated possession as expected but created little goal scoring chances in the first half which ended with the home side in the lead.

It was like a fairytale story for Osimhen as he scored the equalizer from a rebound that fell nicely for him to tap in which sent the Napoli fans wild and it was enough to secure the much needed one point to seal the title.

Napoli has won the title on two occasions prior to this which was in 1987 and 1990 and for over three decades the Scuddeto has eluded them.

They didn’t only win the title with six games to spare, they also made histories. Their coach Luciano Spalletti becomes oldest coach to win the Serie A at the age of 64. Also Victor Osimhen becomes the all time African top scorer in a single season after surpassing Samuel Eto’o’s record with his 22nd goal of the season.
