Nathan Tella was quite impressive for Bayer Leverkusen as the defending champions of the German Bundesliga took apart Freiburg on Saturday afternoon.

The Bay Arena as expected was filled with majority of the home fans as the champions treated them to a five star performance.

Although Nathan Tella didn’t score nor assist but was quite instrumental and was effective in the final third running into spaces and creating options for others.

Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick was the most outstanding player on the afternoon as he scored four of the Bayer Leverkusen’s five goals.

Schick was more than a handful for Freiburg’s defense as they struggled to pin him down all day long.

Patrik Schick scored in added time of the first half to give the hom side the lead after German sensation Florian Wirtz missed a penalty.

Florian doubled the lead for Bayer Leverkusen six minutes after the restart as he registered his 7th league goal of the season.

The German under 23 midfielder and Patrik Schick ran the show for the defending champions in the second half.

Schick scored a 10-minute hat trick to complete his double brace on the afternoon as Xabi Alonso’s men left Freiburg jaded.

Patrik Schick’s double brace means the Czech Republic striker has now scored 9 goals in twelve league matches this season.

Bayer Leverkusen’s win takes them to second on the log with 32 points – four points off league leaders Bayer Munich who have 36.

The win over Bayer Leverkusen takes Xabi Alonso to 50 league wins in 75 matches.
