Former Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye has called out former Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Enyimba over unpiad wages.

Brown Ideye took to his official X page to make the claim as he revealed that the nine-time Nigerian champions and two-time Africa Cup of Nations winners owe him and other players in the team match bonuses.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner revealed that Enyimba are yet to pay him and the rest of the squad match bonuses from last season.

Ideye expressed his disappointment at the Kanu Nwankwo-led Enyimba board via a tweet on his X page on Wednesday.

BECAUSE I GET MONEY I SHOULD NOT ASK FOR THE ONE I WORK FOR? PLEASE PAY ME AND THE PLAYERS LAST SEASON MATCH BONUSES. @EnyimbaFC THE SEASON ENDED IN MAY, TILL NOW NOTHING. NEW SEASON WILL START NEXT MONTH.

He also bemoaned the travel conditions provided by the club as he revealed that the team travels by road from Aba to Kano.

MAYBE BECAUSE NO BE UR FRIEND OR BROTHER DEY THIS SITUATION, SO YOU CAN BE TYPING BS. THIS PLAYERS DESERVE THE BEST. BUT THEY’RE LIVING LIKE JOBLESS MEN. SOME OF THEM HAVE WIFE, KIDS AND FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF. DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO TRAVEL FROM ABA TO KANO BY ROAD AND PLAY A GAME THE NEXT DAY? I GUESS YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Ideye also revealed that Enyimba pays players as low as N7,000 on match days as a feeding allowance.

“At Enyimba, we are receiving 7K a day as feeding allowance – sometimes 8K, sometimes 7K. It wasn’t every day; only if you had a game. So, let’s say we travelled for a game in Lagos: 7K on Friday, 7K on Saturday, then after the game, you’re on your own. And the worst part is we don’t receive match bonuses weekly or monthly, we receive it at the end of the season.”

Brown Ideye joined Enyimba in December 2024 for the rest of the 2024/2025 football season and scored five goals in twelve matches for the Aba Elephants.
