Ousmane Dembele scores twice in the second half as the defending champions reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in consecutive seasons.
The defending champions completed a double over Liverpool at Anfield with a 2-0 victory to seal a 4-nil aggregate win after two legs.
Dembele scored a brace, but it was a night where Russian goalkeeper, Matvey Safonov proved why he’s Luis Enrique’s first goalkeeper choice in the competition.
Matvey Safonov denied Milos Kerkez from giving Liverpool the lead in the 31st minute as he pulled off a brilliant save from his shot at goal.
Dutch forward Cody Gakpo forced Safonov to make another save a few minutes into the second half as the Reds piled pressure on PSG’s defence.
Safonov also pulled off another save to stop Rio Ngumoha’s rebound from landing inside the net with twenty minutes left.
Moments later, Ousmane Dembele powered a left-footed strike into the net as he was teed up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Bradley Barcola threaded a fine pass towards Dembele who showed composure before slotting the ball into the net in added time of the 90.
PSG now have a date in the semis against Bayern Munich or Real Madrid as they look to reach consecutive Champions League final appearances for the first time.
