Raphinha, Yamal deatroy Benfica as Barcelona progress into Champions League last 8

Barcelona have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League after an impressive display over Benfica.

The Catalan giant didn’t have much to do on the night as they breezed past the visitors with a comfortable 3-1 victory on Tuesday night.

Brazilian winger Raphinha continued his terrific form this season as he bagged a brace on the night.

Lamine Yamal also had an amazing night as scored and provided an assist to take his goal contribution this season to 23 in 34 matches.

Raphinha scored the opener 11 minutes into the match with a composed finish from Lamine Yamal’s pass.

Former Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi equalized for Benfica with a header from a free-kick two minutes later.

However, Lamine Yamal dashed Benfica’s hope of equalling the aggregate scoreline with a sublime left-footed strike from the edge of the box to give Barcelona the lead.

Raphinha increased the scoreline just before the break as he powered a low drive into the bottom corner.

Benfica’s Fredik Aursnes reduced the deficit five minutes into the second half but his goal was ruled out for offside.

Barcelona secured a 4-1 aggregate win over the Portuguese side as they progressed into the quarter-finals of the competition.
