Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to be on the sidelines after he suffered an injury in Real Madrid’s win over Marseille at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.
The English full-back started the tie but came off for club captain, Dani Carvajal minutes later after a discomfort to his left leg.
Real Madrid in s statement on Wednesday confirmed that the former Liverpool defender has suffered muscle injury after diagnosis.
“After the tests carried out today on our player Trent Alexander-Arnold by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg. Pending evolution.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to miss a couple of games including the Madrid Derby on September 27, the Champions League trip to debutants Kairat Almati as well as the El Classico on October 26.
Alexander-Arnold is expected to be out for up to eight weeks according to reports.
The 26-year-old has featured in all four of Real Madrid matches in the La Liga this season and has has kept two clean sheets.
Meanwhile Kylian Mbappe’s brace from the penalty spot secured maximum points for Xabi Alonso’s men having conceded from Timothy Weah’s opener.
