Remo claims victory in “Battle of the Stars”, Pillars dismantle Insurance as Rangers, Rivers drop points

Victor Mbaoma scored the only goal of the match as Remo Stars claimed victory over Shooting Stars in Ikenne on Sunday evening.

The veteran striker scored a few minutes into the second half to give the host the sole goal that secured maximum points for the defending champions.

Mustapha Jibrin and Chidozie Okorie gave Kano Pillars a two-goal lead in the first half while Aminu Mohammed and Bernard Ovoke scored in the second to wrap up a 4-0 win.

Enugu Rangers and Rivers United dropped points in their race for the title. The Flying Antelopes were held to a goalless draw by Barau FC while Rivers United lost away at Bayelsa United.

Enugu Rangers and Rivers United are joint-top on the log of the Nigeria Premier Football League with 55 points after 33 matches.
