Rivers United are back on top of the Nigeria Premier League table after a narrow win over Barau FC in a rescheduled match in Port Harcourt.
The Pride of Rivers went into the tie on the back of a six-game winless streak across the league and the CAF Champions League.
Courtesy of Steven Manyo’s 85th-minute goal, Finidi George secured maximum points and a clean sheet to topple Ikorodu City at the top of the table.
The defender rifled in a brilliant strike into the top corner from the edge of the box off a pass from Isaac Annor.
Rivers United lead the table with 46 points, one point above Ikorodu City, but with three games less due to their participation in the CAF Champions League.
