Ruben Amorim beat Guardiola to win first Manchester Derby

Manchester United came from a goal down to hand Reuben Amorim his first Manchester derby as coach of the Red Devils.

Despite conceding first in the game, the Red Devils kept their shape and controlled the game on and off the ball.

Joskol Gvardiol gave the home side the lead on the 36th minute via a header from a short corner from Kevin De Bruyne.

Phil Foden almost doubled the lead just before half time but Andre Onana pulled off a great save to deny the English winger.

Manchester United started the second half better than the first and Amad Diallo almost equalized for the visitors.

The winger directed a brilliant header towards the far right post but Ederson made a fantastic save to deny the Ivorian.

Ruben Amorim’s side kept fhe heat on Man City but failed to convert their chances.

Bruno Fernandes was played through on goal from a sweet pass from Rasmus Hojlund but Portuguese directed his effort off target.

Manchester United eventually got their deserved equalizer via a spot kick after Matheus Nunes brought down Amad in the box.

Captain Bruno Fernandes stepped up and sent Ederson the wrong way to draw Manchester United level.

Amad Diallo beat the offside to meet Lisandro Martinez’s wonderful ball from deep, lofted the the ball over Ederson before slotting into the back of the net.

The match ended 2-1 as Ruben Amorim win his Manchester Derby as manager of Manchester United.

Manchester United’s victory at the Etihad is the Red Devils’ first since 2021 under former manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
