England women’s manager, Sarina Wiegman gave fans an unforgettable surprise on Tuesday not just for her tactical genius, but for a moment of pure joy that went viral around the world.
During the Lionesses’ Euro 2025 victory parade in central London, Wiegman was caught completely off guard when Afrobeats megastar Burna Boy joined her on stage.
The crowd of thousands, gathered along The Mall to celebrate England’s back-to-back European titles, erupted in cheers as Wiegman gasped, clutched her head in disbelief, and burst into dance.
“Oh my God!” she exclaimed, before embracing Burna Boy and vibing to his hit song “For My Hand” which was her most-streamed track of last year.
The moment was orchestrated by former Lioness and host, Alex Scott, who teased Wiegman with a knowing grin: “We’ve got a surprise for you… someone you might know.”
What followed was a euphoric fusion of football and music. Wiegman, known for her steely composure, let loose in front of thousands. It was unfiltered and completely unexpected and it stole the show.
“I was so flabbergasted,” Wiegman said later. “But I thought, ‘Let’s enjoy this. How often do you get to dance with Burna Boy?’”
The celebration capped a historic summer for the Lionesses, who beat Spain in a dramatic penalty shootout in Basel to claim England’s first-ever major international trophy won abroad. It was a moment of national pride and the parade was its joyful exclamation mark.
