Bournemouth reignited their European ambitions with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Fulham at the Vitality Stadium on Monday night, thanks to Antoine Semenyo’s goal in the opening minute.
Semenyo capitalized on a defensive lapse by Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, intercepting a pass and firing a low shot into the bottom corner just 53 seconds into the match.

This swift strike set the tone for Bournemouth, who managed to hold onto their lead despite Fulham’s persistent efforts.
The win marks Bournemouth’s first in nine Premier League matches, lifting them to eighth place in the standings.
They are now level on 48 points with Fulham and Brighton but ahead on goal difference, keeping their hopes for European competition alive.
Fulham, coming off a notable victory against Liverpool, struggled to find their rhythm. Their best chance came when Rodrigo Muniz seized on a loose ball but dragged his shot wide.
Bournemouth’s goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, was instrumental in maintaining the clean sheet, making seven crucial saves, including a standout stop against Alex Iwobi.
The match wasn’t without controversy. In the 57th minute, a substitution mix-up led to Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon being taken off instead of the intended player, causing confusion and frustration for manager Marco Silva.
Despite attempts to rectify the error, the decision stood, disrupting Fulham’s momentum.
With six games remaining, both teams are in a tight race for European qualification, trailing sixth-placed Aston Villa by six points.
