The Super Eagles have been drawn in Group L for the qualifiers of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations alongside Madagascar, Tanzania team and Guinea-Bissau.
Tanzania have already secured automatic qualification for the tournament as one of the host nations, leaving Nigeria, Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau to battle for the available qualification spots from the group.
Nigeria will head into the qualifiers with a strong record against all three opponents.
The Super Eagles last faced Tanzania during the group stage of the 2025 AFCON, where Nigeria claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory.
Against Madagascar, Nigeria will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the shock 2-0 defeat suffered during the group stage of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
The three-time African champions also faced Guinea-Bissau at the 2023 AFCON, edging the West Africans 1-0.
Historically, Nigeria have dominated Tanzania in previous meetings, recording six wins and three draws without a defeat.
The Super Eagles also hold a positive record against Madagascar with three wins, one draw and one defeat from five meetings.
Against Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria have won three times and lost once in four encounters.
