Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Roland Idowu emotional after bagging late winner against Ross County

Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Roland Idowu was filled with emotions after he scored a late winner for St. Mirren over Ross County.

The 23-year-old midfielder came on as a second-half substitute and secured maximum points for the home side.

Ronan Hale gave the visitors the lead in the 22nd minute from a rebound after a goal-mouth scramble in the box.

Ronan Hale almost doubled the lead for the visitors just moments later.

He powered a left-footed strike, but Ghanaian goalkeeper Jordan Amissah dived to the ground quickly to make a save.

Caolan Boyd-Munce equalized for the home side with a brilliant left-footed shot from outside the box.

Roland Idowu’s goal takes his tally to four in 26 league matches.

The win secured the sixth spot for St. Mirren as they avoided the drop into the relegation group.
