Ademola Lookman the hero for Atalanta
Atalanta trailed at home after just 15 minutes, but the Super Eagles forward helped them draw level six minutes later.
Lookman, playing his first Serie A game of the season, produced a stunning display of ability to help Atalanta equalize.
He skipped away from Edoardo Bove down the left and floated in the cross for Mateo Retegui’s header.
In first-half stoppage time, Ademola Lookman scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
With his marker drawn, he dashed into the box from the left and surprised the entire defense by slotting home from the left as well.
It was his first goal in his first game since the new season began, and it strengthened his argument to be named the 2024 Africa Player of the Year.
The holders of the UEFA Europa League desperately needed this victory after dropping their opening two matches, 2-1 in Torino and 4-0 to Inter Milan.
