Super Eagles Confirmed for Four-Nation Invitational tournament in Amman Against Iran and Jordan

The Nigeria men’s senior national football team, the Super Eagles, will feature in a Four-Nation Invitational Tournament in Amman, Jordan next month, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced.

The mini-tournament, scheduled during the March FIFA international window, will see Nigeria face two strong Asian sides as part of preparations ahead of future competitive fixtures.

According to the NFF media release, the Super Eagles will open their campaign on Friday, March 27, 2026, against Iran’s senior national team at the Amman International Stadium, a 17,000-capacity venue in Jordan’s capital.

On the same day, hosts Jordan will take on Costa Rica at the larger King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, which seats around 62,000 spectators.

The tournament will continue on Tuesday, March 31, when Nigeria meets the host nation Jordan back at the Amman International Stadium. Later that day, Iran will play Costa Rica at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. Kick-off times for all four matches are expected to be released by the organisers soon.

For the Super Eagles, the invitational comes amid uncertainties around their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. Nigeria were eliminated on the pitch in the final round of the African playoffs, losing to DR Congo, but have lodged a protest with FIFA alleging the use of ineligible players by their opponents. The outcome of that dispute is still pending.
