Taiwo Awoniyi wrote a motivational message on his shin pads after he scored his first league goal of the season as he put an end to an eleven-month drought.

Awoniyi came off the bench to score Nottingham Forest’s final goal as the Tricky Trees thrashed Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 at Molineaux.

The striker scored a quite easy goal as he tapped the ball into the net via square pass from English midfielder James Ward-Prowse late in the game.

Awoniyi got emotional after scoring and removed his shin pads to reveal the message he wrote on them while celebrating with his national team colleague and club teammate Ola Aina.

The former Mainz striker had endured a challenging period over the last few months due to injuries and limited game time under Nuno Espirito Santo.
