Fidelis Ilechukwu says the league title is out of Enugu Rangers sight after Flying Antelopes recorded their first win after consecutive losses to Niger Tornadoes and El Kanemi Warriors.
The defending champions edged Ikorodu City 2-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Monday afternoon courtesy of goals from Godwin Obaje and Victor Ekujah (Own-goal).
While speaking to journalists after the victory, Ilechukwu says it will be very difficult for Enugu Rangers to defend their title.
He says Remo and Shooting Stars are in a better position to win the championship this season as he admitted that Enugu Rangers have been on a bad patch this season.
However, he added that he is confident in his team but won’t put pressure on them.
Ilechukwu also sent a message to the fans not to expect anything from the team this season.
“My friend (Ogunmodede) is serious about the title this season, the title is in Ijebu for now…fans should not expect us to defend the title”
Remo Stars lead the league table with 45 points after 22 points while Enugu Rangers are fourth with 34 points.
