As the 2025 international football season approaches, speculation is rising around potential additions to the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles.

Several foreign-born players, eligible to represent Nigeria due to their heritage, have impressed at the club level and could significantly bolster the Super Eagles’ squad.

Here are three players that should consider switching allegiances to Nigeria in 2025:

1. Tosin Adarabioyo (Chelsea, England)
The towering Chelsea defender, born in England to Nigerian parents, has long been tipped to play for the Super Eagles. His composure on the ball and ability to dominate aerial duels would bring stability to Nigeria’s defense, which has sometimes lacked consistency.

2. Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal, England)
At just 17 years old, Ethan Nwaneri is one of the most exciting young prospects in English football.

Born to Nigerian parents, the attacking midfielder has already broken records in the Premier League as Arsenal’s youngest-ever player. Convincing him to represent Nigeria could be a long-term investment for the Super Eagles.

3. Carney Chukwuemeka (Chelsea, England)

The Chelsea midfielder, born in Austria to Nigerian parents and raised in England, is a versatile and technically gifted player. Chukwuemeka has already represented England at youth levels but remains eligible to play for Nigeria.

His composure on the ball, ability to pick out key passes, and box-to-box energy would make him a perfect addition to the Super Eagles’ midfield. With proper guidance, he could develop into one of the team’s leading figures.

With these players potentially joining the Super Eagles, Nigeria would have a blend of youth, experience, and depth to compete at the highest levels of international football.
