Tottenham stunned Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, and Roberto De Zerbi’s side won there for the first time since 2018. Chelsea’s goalie Mike Penders gifted Spurs the lead in the 77th minute when he punched a Mateus Fernandes corner into his own net.
Cole Palmer made the eveing worse for the Blues as he collected a second yellow card for a challenge on Conor Gallagher and left Chelsea with ten men. Mathys Tel sealed the result in the 87th minute, charging through midfield and drilling a low shot into the bottom-left corner making it back-to-back wins for Spurs.
The win is Tottenham Hotspurs first at Stamford Bridge since the 2017-18 Premier League season. It ended 3-1 courtesy of a brace from Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.
At Villa Park, Nicolas Jackson ended Manchester City’s perfect Premier League start with a double in a 2-1 win. Jackson scored in the sixth minute, and Erling Haaland equalised in the 52nd. Jackson struck again in the 60th to hand City their first league defeat of the season.
Arsenal seized the moment and beat Everton 2-0 at a rain-soaked Emirates. Ezri Konsa poked home a corner in the seventh minute for his first goal for the club, and Gabriel headed in Ben White’s cross in the 68th minute on his 200th league appearance. The champions now sit level with City on 21 points, behind only on goal difference.
Oscar Bobb lit up the day’s quietest game as Fulham won 1-0 at Coventry. The winger danced past two defenders in the 80th minute and curled in his first Premier League goal for the club. Manager Alvaro Arbeloa summed up the afternoon: “We scored our goal and controlled the game.”
That second straight win lifted Fulham out of the relegation zone and up to 12th, while Coventry stayed 19th.
