Nigeria advanced to the Round of 16 of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 after a convincing 4–0 victory over Samoa in their final Group D match on Saturday.

The Flamingos, needing a win to stay in the tournament, started brightly and went ahead through Queen Joseph in the 13th minute after a fine assist from Shakirat Moshood. Moshood then doubled the advantage from the penalty spot before Joseph struck again with a composed finish.

Nigeria captain Moshood missed another penalty early in the second half, but Azeezat Oduntan wrapped up the result with a superb curling effort in the 67th minute.

In other games of the day, In Group E, Colombia edged Korea Republic 1–0 after substitute London Crawford struck in the 73rd minute to send her side through behind group winners Spain, who defeated Côte d’Ivoire 3–0 with two goals from Claudia Barrios.
