Getafe secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The opening half was characterized by cautious play from both sides. Real Sociedad, struggled to penetrate Getafe’s well-organized defense. Getafe, on the other hand, focused on maintaining their defensive shape, limiting Sociedad’s attacking opportunities. Neither team managed to create clear-cut chances, resulting in a 0-0 scoreline at halftime.
The second half saw a dramatic shift in momentum. In the 72nd minute, Getafe’s forward, Christantus Uche, broke the deadlock, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Sociedad to slot the ball past the goalkeeper.
Buoyed by the lead, Getafe intensified their attacks. Just two minutes later, in the 74th minute, C. Perez doubled the advantage with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box. Perez sealed the victory in the 85th minute, netting his second and Getafe’s third goal, following a swift counter-attack that left Sociedad’s defense scrambling.
This victory is significant for Getafe as it boosts their position in the LaLiga standings and their fight against relegation.
