European football organizing body, UEFA have selected the venue for the 2026/2027 Champions League final.
UEFA’s executive committee today, announced that the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium – home turf of 11-time Spanish champions, Atletico Madrid will host the final.
The 2027 UEFA Champions League will return to the Wanda Metropolitano eight years after Liverpool won their sixth title.

Mohammed Salah’s penalty after 106 seconds and Divock Origi’s second half strike secured the win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Wanda Metropolitano is a 70,692 capacity stadium originally built between 1990-1993 and opened a year later.
However, it was closed in 2004 for a future project due to Spain’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
After two successive failed Olympic bids, Atletico Madrid announced their plans to build the stadium on the location of La Peineta, and ownership was officially transferred to the club in 2013.
The Wanda Metropolitano replaced Atletico Madrid’s former homeground, the Vincent Calderon which was demolished in 2020.
Meanwhile, the executive committee also announced the venue for the 2027 UEFA Women’s Champions League final.
The final of the Women’s 2027 Champions League final will take place at the National Stadium, Warsaw.
