Chrisantus Uche’s potential move to Wolverhampton Wanderers is under threat, as per the latest comments from the agent of the player.
Getafe and the Premier League side have reportedly agreed on a fee of about €20 million for the Super Eagles midfielder.
However, the move is likely not to materialise after the player’s representative made a conflicting statement on the future of his client.
He told Radio Marca that Chrisantus Uche remains undecided after he visited Getafe’s office on Wednesday.
“He wants to leave, he wants to stay,” Uche’s agent said.
“Uche wants to play on the pitch… If Ángel Torres says he didn’t speak to me, he’d be someone who looked just like me.”
Chrisantus Uche is arguably Getafe’s most prized asset at the moment, and his exit will impact the club.
His exit will afford the club some level of financial leverage to recruit a replacement before the transfer window ends or in January, and also complete player registrations in La Liga.
However, his departure will also threaten their chances of securing a ticket to play in Europe next season, given his importance to the team.
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers have shifted their attention to another Super Eagles player, Tolu Arokodare, and a deal is close to being agreed with Genk.
