Manchester City’s struggles continued with a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium.

The champions were unable to deal with the constant waves of attack from Spurs and conceded four goals and several chances.

Manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged that his team are currently vulnerable defensively, and must change things quickly to avoid losing even more games.

Guardiola told BBC Radio 5 Live:

“At this moment we are fragile defensively. We started really well as normal but we could not score and then after that we conceded.

The City boss recognized that this slump was unprecedented during his eight-year tenure.

“In eight years we have never lived in this kind of situation.

“At this moment, we have to live it and break it by winning the next games, especially the next one.

“Now we see things in one way, maybe in a few weeks we see it differently.”
