We were unlucky! – Bassey rues Fulham’s draw at Tottenham

Calvin Bassey believes Fulham were quite unlucky not to have won against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Fulham played out a one-all draw away from home on the back of the disappointing 4-1 home loss to Wolves.

The Super Eagles defender spoke to Fulham TV after the game on Sunday afternoon.

“I think it’s a hard one, I think we deserved more. They had Fraser Forster who pulled out three top saves that could have been goals. We were unlucky.”

“A man sent off when we started gaining momentum, but on a positive note, we were able to maintain it to make sure we didn’t concede late as we’ve done in a couple games now. We were composed, and dealt with it well.”

Bassey also added that he’s confident in Marco Silva’s abilities to keep the team going even in difficult situations.

“No matter who we play, we’re confident in our abilities and what we can do and we trust what the manager is doing and we’ve had success from it.”

“We’re going to keep playing out that way and sometimes we get caught, but we could have gone on to win.”

“We needed a reaction after the loss against Wolves, and hopefully, we gave a good impression to the fans again. We’ve got a busy week, so it’s nice to go with some confidence into the next few games. It’s a busy schedule, but you can’t complain.”

Tom Cairney 67th minute goal from Alex Iwobi‘s pass secured a point for the visitors after Brennan Johnson’s 6th league goal of the season nine minutes into the second half.

Fullham will play host to Brighton in their next Premier League fixture.
